My interest in
motorcycles - paul doherty
My first memories of
motorbikes are my parents taking me, my brother and sister out of school early
to go to the NW 200 practice sessions. Getting out of school was a big enough
thrill on its own but nothing was to beat the speed ,noise and smell of the
racing bikes around the North West roads. I have to say that from these early
days my biking interest was born, although my grandfather and father rode
various bikes over the years.

It was my
father that bought me my first bike when I was 10, a Suzuki GP50 from our
next door neighbour - Isle of Man TT winner and very successful road racer Con Law, this
also fuelled my biking interest to be living next door to a road racer. Then
came along a Suzuki RM100 Motor Cross Bike, followed by a Yamaha YZ125, then a
Kawasaki KX125, then a Honda CX500 Road Bike which I bought from my uncle. I
then moved onto cars at the age of 17. At the age of 25 i bought my next bike,
a Honda NS 400 cause I liked it but without having the bike test yet I couldn't
take it out on the road. I did my bike test in 2001 and bought a brand new
Suzuki GSX 600 which I rode for a year. I traded this in and moved up to a
Suzuki GSX 1300 Hayabusa which was a great all round bike. I took it to Isle Of
Man twice and toured France on it. An unexpected change was to come next with
me doing more miles and more rallies throughout the country. The Honda GoldWing
surfaced which I still own and love!! |

My very first experience
with motorbikes was when I
was a pillion passenger in 2004 along with the late Denis McCafferty. I
found it absolutely amazing and so free. Denis and I became a couple and
for months we went for long rides on his bike and every time I got on it, the buzz I got was unreal. He then introduced
me to the Rally Scene and oh boy was I blown away with that. It was a
totally different world and I couldn't get enough of it. Though Denis died
suddenly and for over a year I was away from bikes/rallies.
I
then met Paul and with his charm and the Goldwing I was introduced into the bike
scene again. Paul bought me a Honda CG 125 and I took a few lessons but it was a
very high seated bike and I felt very vulnerable on it. I have a
Kawasaki Eliminator 125 (much better - lower seat) so I'm getting my experience
on that. Though what I really really want is a
Trike - but unless I win the lottery my dream of owning
one will be only a dream. lol lol

My interest in motorcycles -
JOE FLEMING
Hi Joe here, my
first experience of motorcycles was when I was sixteen. I bought an MT50
trials then progressed to a 250 Superdream. I then went back to an
MTX125 and went for my test which I passed. My first real bike was a Suzuki
GSX 550e (what a machine...I thought). I rode this for several years and had a
few real scares so with a young family I hung the boots and helmet up for
fifteen years. Eventually with my family grown up I felt the urge again so I
bought a VFR750, then hearing little voices bought a Hayabusa where the need
was fulfilled. Though realising now that I am getting older I am now the owner
of a BMW R1150RT.

My interest in motorcycles -
CHERYL FLEMING
Hi,
Cheryl here - My first ever experience with motorcycles was when I was riding
pillion behind my boyfriend (now husband) when I was sixteen. I then married
and had two lovely girls. The next time I sat on a motorcycle was roughly
about five years ago as pillion. I decided to buy my first bike which was a
Virago 125 and through time decided to do my test and I past it last year. I
am now riding a Virago 535 though would like to upgrade to a bigger and more
powerful bike when I get a little more experience, hopefully next year. I have
attended a few Rallies, Rock Nights and events both here and overseas and have
met two wonderful friends in Carol and Paul. I am now a proud member of
Coyotes RC.

My interest in
motorcycles -
NIALL MC
GROTTY Hey
dudes, Niall here... My interest in bikes came about when I was about 15. A
friend of mine had got himself a KAWASAKI AR 50. He showed me VERY briefly how
to work the clutch and away I went............ into a ford
transit!!!!!! ONLY JOKING.......... Naw, seriously, if it weren’t for
him, I’d have never of known how to ride a bike. It was about 5 years ago, my
brother bought a HONDA 125 REBEL CUSTOM and he let me take it out a few times
and with those few times, I started to really get the feel for it and gain
confidence.... I have ridden a CBR 600, and I have to say, OH MY GOD!!!!! Ha
ha!!!!
I may never have owned a
bike, although throughout the years, I have had some experience with them,
including the riders or the bikes themselves.... some day, I will have one.....
Well, I have no other choice now that I am a Coyote!!!!!! Keep er between the
hedges you crazy kids!!!!!!
